Gombe State Government Offers Employment To 51 First Class Graduates
Fifty one first class graduates of the Gombe State University has been offered automatic employment by the state governor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo – Each of the first class graduates were also given donation of N100,000 – A total of 3, 958 students graduated at a combined convocation ceremony for four academic sessions Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo of Gombe state, on Saturday, March 10, offered automatic employment to 51 graduates of Gombe State University who graduated with a first class degree.
This was announced by the governor during the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th combined convocation ceremony of the university for the award of first degrees, postgraduate diplomas, higher degrees and prizes. NAIJ.com noted that the state government offered each of the 51 first class graduates an automatic employment and donation of N100,000 each.
The governor stated that his administration has fully implemented the ASUU and federal government agreement, adding that he also provided fund for the payment of earned allowance and postgraduate study grant.
According to the vice chancellor of the institution, Professor Ibrahim Umar, a total of 3, 958 students graduated at the combined convocation ceremony for four academic sessions. He said 864 students got second class upper, 1, 945 got second class lower, 1, 038 graduated with third class, while 60 bagged a pass degree, adding that those that graduated with a pass degree were admitted in 2013 session, before the abolition of the pass degree by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
